Scene reopens and I arrived at the training center that a friend of mine opened up. A former wrestler and Med, Lexapro. I get there with Alexia, who was nice enough to take time off from her job back in New York to come with me on this vacation and I love having her here. My first step in the door here I realized Lex made a good choice; it was a nice size building, lots of windows with great views, awesome sports pictures and items hanging on the wall, such as a Babe Ruth signed baseball bat, and a big black and white picture of Muhammad Ali. After a quick scan of the room I saw Lex standing with his girlfriend Jessica at the other end and I proceeded over to them with Alexia following closely behind me. As we approach Lexapro and Jessica spot us and give us warm smiles.
Prozac
Hey guys!
I slap hands quickly with Lex, then give Jess a small hug, then I turn to Alexia.
Prozac
Alex this is Jessica.
Alexia
Hi, nice to finally meet you, Lex talk about you all the time.
Jessica
Oh, the same, Rob has told me so much about you.
I almost blush at what Jess said, I haven't quite asked Alexia out yet, so Jessica’s comment might have been a little strong.
Alexia
Oh really? Nothing bad I hope?
Alexia looks at me and grins playfully; I smile back at her and wink.
Lexapro
Ah, let me introduce you to your trainee.
Lex turns slightly to the left and waves to a young man, to signal him to come over. The young kid looked well built and pretty much equal to my size, width and height. Short brown hair on is head and kind of on his face with a very short beard, the kind that hasn't been saved in a day but is kept nice and looks good, I do the same myself sometimes.
Lexapro
William this is Prozac. Prozac this will be you trainee, William Cardillo.
William
It’s an honor to meet you sir I'm a big fan
He extends his hand, a big smile on his face as his pearly whites are seen. I reach out with my own hand and wrap it around his tightly as we shake hands.
Prozac
Call me Rob, and its great to meet you.
When Lex asked me to train someone, I said sure and I looked threw photos and resumes f some of the trainees. I hand picked William, because in his photo I saw that look in his eyes the look of someone with a dream, with heart. I had and have that same look and I new that he would be the future of wrestling and I thought I would be able to give him that extra push.
Lexapro
Well you two can begin training, I promised I would take jess to the store so I have to run out. Rob you mind looking after the place till I get back?
Prozac
No problem.
I answer him with a quick nod.
Lexapro
Try not to burn the place down alright?
His tone was serious and I sensed no joking from him.
Prozac
Come on man, its me your talking about.
He looked at me with a untrusting look.
Lexapro
That’s what I'm worried about.
I look at him, with a big cheesy grin.
Jessica
Alexia would you like to come? I know it will be boring to watch Rob train someone.
The two girls quickly chuckle lightly.
Alexia
If you don't mind.
Jessica
Of course we don't.
Alexia looks at me and I motion my head to her to go. We smile at each other briefly then the three of them walk away and leave me and my pupil to train.
Prozac
Well I'm not going to tell you to forget all you know and start from scratch, no! I always want you to remember all that you have learned. What would be the point of learning it if you were just going to forget it right?
He nods quickly; he looks like he’s in boot camp, standing straight up stiff as a board.
Prozac
But listen what ever you learn; I don't care how much I want you to keep learning ok? I don't care if you're the best wrestler, fighter, whatever in the would, and you think you know enough, I want you to keep learning. Learn new styles even if you don't think you need them or they will help, again I don't care, learn it anyway. For starters tell me what fighting styles you know.
William
I know amateur wrestling, I was on the high school team, won some awards and stuff. I know some jujitsu and some pro wrestling basics.
He shrugged, looking a little hopeful
Prozac
Good that’s a start, growing up I use to fight a lot, did free style type, then I learned armature wrestling from there I learned boxing, then kickboxing while I was learning my pro wrestling skills. Right now I am perfecting my submission skills and from there I will find something else to learn. Keep learning I'm telling you, its one ting to be strong or fast, but to be strong mentally is something that will take you places. Look at some of my matches I didn't win them all by skill, I used my brain to. In battle royals act friendly teaming with someone then back attack them. Key is trust no one. Now look at that over there.
I point over to the end of the room and he turns his head in that direction, I let my free hand fly slapping him right on the cheek. He stumbles back a step and holds his face as he looks at me wide eyed with a questioning look on his face.
Prozac
I can see we have a lot of work to do.
I sigh heavily and start to walk away.
Prozac
Follow me.
A few minutes later, we stand over on one side of the room. William has a hammer in his hand that I found laying around in Lexapro’s office. He his swinging the hammer at the wall with one hand, each hit create a new hole in the wall. I told him to do it and I would explain to him why.
Prozac
Next lesson, for every action there is a repercussion, if you push somebody you are going to get pushed back, if you make a challenge expect an answer.
William
And what is the repercussion for putting these holes in the wall?
He looks at me waiting for an answer. He asks a lot of good questions which is good and the kid is like a sponge, absorbing all that I tell him.
Prozac
The repercussion is you're going to have to pay Lexapro for the damages you just did.
I turn on a heel and start to walk away, leaving him with his jaw dropped.
Another few minutes later we stand in the middle of the room facing each other.
Prozac
Ok now you have to overcome some thing, first of which is fears, but you also have to overcome things you don't feel comfortable with, like for me I cant hit a women, so when ever I am in a match with one I am uncomfortable with it because I know if I don't fight back I'll be getting I disagree kicked the whole time, so once you get in the ring you have to overcome any negative feelings.
William
Is that all you feel uncomfortable facing?
Prozac
No, I don't like facing homosexual men either. Not that I have anything against them but the thought of them getting a hard on while I am giving them a bearhug doesn't go so well with me.
He laughs dropping his head a little bit.
William
Have you ever been in the ring with a gay man?
Prozac
Yes, I have been in the ring with Justin Evans a few times.
He snaps his head towards me with a shocked and questioning expression on his face.
William
Evans? He’s gay?
I squint my eyes, looking at him because the answer to that was obvious.
Prozac
Yes, see that’s what I'm talking about you have to be more observant.
He raises an eye brow at me.
Prozac
Well hey listen that’s all for today lets go wait outside, Lex should be back any minute.
We head for the door to go wait for Lex. When he gets here I am going to take Alexia out to dinner then drop her off at her hotel room, then go to the bar with Bert who also came along on this trip. Scene Fades
Scene reopens and I'm sitting on a bar stool in a local bar, called “Minute Man”. My favorite bar around here, its decent size, very clean, great selection of alcohol, and nice people hang out here. I have a half empty Jack and diet in my hand and I'm spinning it making the ice it in clink against the glass as they swirl around. I am getting ready to play a game of pool with Ritalin; he’s setting it up at the pool table behind me.
Prozac
I have earned another number one contender spot, and this time when I face Justin things will be different. yes the fact I will win, but I meant the match itself. The way I see it the last two times me and Justin faced off in a matches there was no pin fall, no submission. It was a Pumpkin match and a cage match which Justin escaped to win. We have never beat each other in the center off the ring so this Monday I am going to challenge Justin to a match and I will see if he has the balls to accept.
But first things first I get the sad honor to ace Quin in a match, now he may be Quintastic, but I am Medtastic. In this match once I hit the Med Plant it is over, I don't have to go threw the trouble of pinning his Quin ass. Now that he would be able to kick out after the Med Plant.
I promise I am going into Payback with full momentum, and Quin is going to be the first to fall in my journey to the title.
Ritalin
That's great, now lets play some pool.
